If your piano is being moved, we recommend waiting about a month after its arrival to schedule tuning, so it can acclimatize to its new environment.
If you tune it immediately on arrival, it will probably go out of tune in the following days.
Your piano will work better, last longer and sound more harmonious in a suitable environment.
Here are some tips to provide the right conditions: The room where your piano is kept should be properly ventilated and have a stable temperature.
To keep your piano in good condition and help it stay in tune, relative humidity between 40% and 50% is generally ideal.
Excessive humidity dampens hammer action and produces unclear tones. If the air is too dry, wood and felt components may shrink. In extreme cases, the case, joints and other laminated parts may come apart. Slight distortion can cause noise, and tuning pins may loosen, making the piano difficult to tune. To prevent excessive dryness, you can place a houseplant or a humidifier in the room.
To sum up: to keep your piano stable and in tune, choose a location away from heat sources, air conditioner drafts or an exterior door that often lets in cold air. Avoid rooms that are too damp or too dry, and direct sunlight.

Tuning, regulation and repairs meet different needs
Tuning adjusts the pitch of the notes for consistent intonation. Regulation addresses the action and touch. A repair fixes a specific problem. Describe notes that sound out of tune, keys that respond poorly or unusual noises so the technician can understand your needs.
When to schedule a tuning
Frequency depends on your piano's use, environment and condition. If you do not know the date of its last tuning, mention that in your request. After a move, we generally recommend waiting about a month to let the piano acclimatize.
A piano that has gone a long time without maintenance
An instrument far below standard pitch may need additional work. The technician assesses the work required; the steps and fees should be clarified before proceeding. Tuning alone does not fix every action problem.
